Put your cottage in front of the right people
Scottish Holiday Cottages is being built now, and the first properties shape what it becomes. If you let a place in Scotland — or you're about to — this is the moment to say so.
Where this is up to
Straight answer: the directory is not live. There is no search, no booking engine and no traffic to promise you. What there is, is a domain people type in, a site being built properly, and a list of owners being gathered before launch.
So this page is not a sales pitch with a price at the end. It is a register of interest. We come back to you with what listing would involve — what it costs, what we'd need from you, what you'd get — and you decide then, with the details in front of you.
What we're setting out to do
- Send enquiries to you, not to a call centre. The intention is that a guest reaches the owner directly. Nobody's enquiry gets sold to three agencies.
- Independent places first. Cottages, cabins, crofts, steadings and the odd tower — run by the people who own them, not by chains.
- Real descriptions. Including the single-track road, the hill you have to climb with the shopping, and the fact that the Wi-Fi is honest about what it does.
- All of Scotland. Islands and quiet glens get the same footing as the famous names.
Those are intentions for a site in development, not a service you can buy today. We would rather write that plainly than dress it up.
What we'd need from you eventually
Nothing yet. When it is time: photographs you own, a description, what the place sleeps, how you take bookings, and the certificates a Scottish let needs — short-term let licence number, gas safety, electrical check and insurance. Every local authority in Scotland licenses short-term lets, so that number is not optional for anyone.
Register your property
A minute, and no obligation at the end of it.
Put your cottage forward
We're gathering the first properties now. Registering interest doesn't commit you to anything and doesn't cost anything — we'll come back to you with exactly what listing would involve, and you decide then.
